Agent Pay is Mastercard’s program designed to make agentic payments more secure, transparent, and convenient.
At its core:
- Tokenization & Secure Remote Commerce (SRC)
Every agent is registered and certified, receiving a unique ID. This brings visibility to issuers and merchants—where previously agents were unknown, now they are identifiable.
- Secure Communication
Agents and merchants exchange unique tokens and purchase details through a dedicated inter-face, ensuring transactions remain secure throughout the process.
- Order Intent
Adds transparency by confirming the consumer’s intent and awareness of the purchase, reducing risk and improving trust.
